I got a friend who asked:

I'm kinda desperate at this point with this freakin laptop.

I'll be doing nothing weird or out of the ordinary and then all of the sudden I'm typing and its like caps lock is on- everything is in caps and diff characters that you would usually find by usin the Shift Key.

If I try to scroll, it takes me back a bunch of webpages. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before?

Sorry for the retarded post.... I need to ask.

whoa.. it's on a laptop.. it might not come off that easily..

there are some laptops that you can pop the keys off of with no problem. others are an entire board, and you can break the key stem if you try to take it off.... BE CAREFUL

Well, try and blow it out .... maybe some QC Electrical Cleaner ....

Else, you might need a new keyboard ....

it could also be that the person held down the shift key for 8 seconds at some point, and turned on the SHIFT sticky-key.

check in "control panel" for "accessibility options", and have the person read that stuff.

Its one of those things that 'they' think we'll want to use. I've had the same problem, dozens of times on my laptop. Fucking thing has a mind of its own.

i think it's probably there for impaired people, so that - for example - they can sticky the shift key if they only have one hand and need to type in a lot of symbols.
