Nah, not yet, I need to figure out how to install the damaged drive as a second drive in this laptop, and also get a connector for the drive (I only have the one and its on the replacement drive)
But.... you can get something called a "sled".. however, it's not quite as good if you use the programs we hosted... usually, they ONLY do the harddrive the boot sector's on... unless you can access other data on there, and only the OS crashed.. then you'd be ok... But, yea the sled is a device that you can use to turn an internal harddrive into an external one... they retail for around $50.00 for a "good" one around here (when I say good, they set it up for firewire hookup if you have that capability... the norm is USB).. if just the OS crashed, then you can get a sled and hook it up, get the shit you want off it and go from there... if the ENTIRE OS crashed, you'd have to hook it into a machine and use the utils we got so it will try to read and repair the boot sectors... (if need be, let me know and i'll rehost the files if they're not online anymore)
I'm gonna get one of those USB box thingies that Sha was talking about, and hook it up that way... if that works, then the drive is probably still ok, and I'll run one of those recovery programs over it, format it and just use it for dead storage.
