For anyone that has played a trivia game in any given state and or any given country, you know the drill. You Eat and Drink - and PLAY A GAME to win prizes right?
The thing that gets me is the people that 'play' several times a week in the same area, and want to argue about the facts, especially when they are WRONG. Thrash brought me into the Trivia gig in NE florida, and 32 shows later I have turned it into a singing / dancing fun fest, but you still get those peeps that want to argue about mundane fucking facts forgetting that they are playing "for fun". Oh, and prizes.
Anyway I would like to take this opportunity to say fuck you all who think it's easy to get up in front of 100+ people and be enetertaining while asking questions that you painstakingly researched and have to have the knowlede of several times a week.
I've assisted in a couple of Daves trivia nights. While I dont have any real personality and am blessed with a funny accent, I like to think I didnt fuck them up.
I haven't performed live in 30 years. Spring talent show in High School. I was the only white kid in the band, the only one who could sing and play keyboards. One of a handful of white kids in the whole school and the only one with a Jewish name. We chose "Living In The City" by Stevie Wonder.
This is known as a poor plan properly executed. We were booed offstage and I got punched in the head and told "You ain't black" regularly for the rest of that school year and part of the next. I haven't performed for an audience since.

Yeah sometimes those trivia people don't know what they are talking about. I have to argue with them almost every time.
I can't speak for those trivia people but those of us that have half a brain actually research our information. If I got payed a little more I would actually print up a bibliography of resourses in fact. The answer that I am looking for is always correct, however there are times when wording of the question may come into issue. In that event I have no problem giving credit. The 'Arguing' factor when this is not the case does 2 things: pisses us off and makes us hate you
