why is flirting even in the sex forum? Flirting is not sex. It can lead to sex but no that is not a given. wtf is the big deal with flirting anyway? I flirt. I flirt with guys who are interesting. I flirt with women just because some are worth flirting with. I flirt with whoever I damn well please.
For me , the only issue is one -do you do so openly? or two- do you hide it and lie your ass off about flirting?
Openly, no issue. Behind the back, huge issue. why? because if you have to hide your personality to be with the person you are with then you don't need to be with them. Just that simple.

an engineer's viewpoint: each form of human interaction is, when generalized, communication. the basics of talking and gesturing, the touches that pass between strangers and lovers, and the way we look at each other all send some signal to the people around us.
coincidentally, that's what makes bluetooth headsets so frustrating. as the person wearing one walks past you, they're sending you the signals that they're in conversation with you or someone nearby, when in fact it's that little piece of man jewelry on their ear that's enthralling them.
so, anyway... flirting is just another kind of communication. it's leaning into the conversation, it's making eye contact, it's smiling and lightly touching... there's any number of visual, audial, and tactile cues that one can offer that would fall into the "flirting" communication style. it's fun sometimes, because it's a different approach that one normally takes when communicating, and is has the ability to engage the other person(s) more thoroughly in the conversation.
however, with that said, there's a line between "flirt" and "cock-tease". Crossing that line is just mean!
