This doesn't happen every time. but when I put some CD's in my drive it makes so much noise but doesn't even register that there is a CD in the drive! It will play DVD's and then get stuck and then stop playing and totally crash my Laptop...
Less then a year old. I got it for my 21st off James. Just recently it keeps spitting the cd holder out when I haven't even pressed the button for it to open.
Damn, I'm scared of taking it back just incase they find something naughty.
I'm with Ian on this one.. However, just as a "ha-ha" thing... go get yourself a laser lens cleaner CD... (a CD with a little brush on it, that when it spins it'll clean the head of the laser reader...) Perhaps (if you're lucky) there's some dirt on there that is not allowing it to recognize the CD....
